Does anyone have rigging instructions specific to a Vega. I find many generic ones but not for the Vega. Stay tensions and so forth, sequence of tightening etc.

I don't have any spec's but I do believe that most of the boats that
have had problems with the cabine top raising on either side of the mast
or with the beam under the mast sagging has been because the lower
shrouds are too tight. Backi in the mid 60's when the vega was designed
the shroudes we kept fairly loose except just befor races when they were
tightened. Aft the race they were loosened again. I had tape on my
shrouds at the turnbuckles. Befor the race i Tightened untill the tape
touched the turnbuckle. Then I know they were set up correctly. There
is no reason to keep the shrouds banajo tight when the boat is not being
raced. Even when cruising there can be just a little
slack.

Hi Frank,
I don't have anything Vega-specific, but have found this of some use:

Also, there may be some tips in the "Vega Handbook" in the Yahoo files section.

Is your Vega called "Shiva"? Just curious ....

We're getting about the same weather as you .... on southern Vancouver Island, although the snow was melting as soon as it landed!
