Hi, I posted this question the other day but had not found this section under small boats. We recently bought a Hunter 23.5 and I thought I had the outhaul hooked up properly but then I thought the reefing line was hooked on something in the boom and took the end of the boom off and found a set of pullies in there and now I'm not sure how this hooks up. Does anyone know how this is supposed to be hooked up? The Topping lift is on the port side, there is a cable about 3' long or so in the center and another rope on the starboard side,is one of these for reefing and the other one with the pullies for the outhaul? Any help would be appreciated. Happy Sailing, Rob Morton

This might be the answer

The cable in the middle will be for the outhaul. The rope on the starboard side will be for reefing. Hope this helps. And by the way all you people up North our mornings are getting lighter earlier every day. Roll on summer!

Yes

There is a pulley at the end of the boom. Funny that isn't it. We often have mail from Albany re-addressed to Albany??
