Rigging tension

Catalina 22 Trailer
As I am new to trailer sailing - or basically sailing, for that matter - I am concerned about the standing rigging tension stability from stepping and rigging repeatedly. I marked the turnbuckles with tape so as to recheck to previous tension, but probably need a rig tension gauge. So, how much tension should be on the standing rigging and shrouds for a 1985 Catalina 22? The off shrouds seemed floppy last time out with winds in the 20mph range.

Might want to cross post in the Catalina 22 thread; someone there should have info on the proper tensions for your boat.

Some floppy in the lee shrouds, especially the lower can be normal. If it's excessive you'll want to tighten the shrouds it up a bit.

12-15% tension in your standing rigging is 'normal' for 10-15kts. This applies to most 'all' rigging.

There a method in this link that shows to to arrive at quite precise rig tensions WITHOUT A TENSION GAGE .... just a meter stick: http://www.riggingandsails.com/pdf/selden-tuning.pdf .... applies to 'all' rigging, and regardless of the wire diameter.
