Rigging- javelin

I had a Sturdee catboat years ago with a similar mainsheet set up. It looks like there is one sheave in the center of the boom and one at the end of the boom for the mainsheet. Then the sheet goes from the end of the boom to some kind of hardware at the top corners of the transom or stern.
Try that set up and get used to it. Later on you may want eliminate it all together for double sheave mainsheet that can be attached to the top of the centerboard trunk and the middle of the boom.
I would look into setting up some kind of a topping lift to hold your boom up when the sail is down.

Well ,Joe....close but.....not quite!
This JAVELIN is new enough to already have the Mid-Boom sheeting for the Main (pics below) It is identical to how my DS II is rigged.
The Boom-Vang is also there, I'll post a pic/drawing of how it is rigged too. I show a pic of my Boom-Vang attached to the mast, so as to clear up one confusing point, I have my lower block rigged upside down, the jamcleat should point down, not up. I have mine rigged like that because I do not use the integral jamcleat but instead use a camcleat mounted on the top of the cuddy, this is due to the fact that on the DS II I could not get the angle right to easily lock the line into the jamcleat, the original setup worked great on my old WIDGEON and when I rigged the boom-vang on our old CAL 21 I set it up using the built-in jamcleat and it worked fine. (Someday I may figure a way to cut of the jamcleat on my boom-vang block)

OK. I see it now. The mainsheet is on the right in the pic and the boom vang is on the left. So all he has to do is attach the block to the under side of the boom for his mainsheet and thread the blocks with the line.
