New boat owner, and I am having an issue rigging bith the jib (100) & genoa (150). The tack of both sails attach approx. 1"-2" above the bow, but the life lines that run along both sides of the hull are over 16" above the bow and totally emcompass the boat. The jib can't run outside these lines unless I disconnect them, but to run inside them means I can't get any shape out of the sail (trimmed in way too far). Is this right, or can I rig it differently to accomodate the existing life lines? Thanks for any help.

Simple

There should be two life lines going to your bow pulpit from the forward stanchions. Make the top one detachable and take them off when you sail.

life lines

i have a 86 hunter 25.5,with the same setup. however i do not have that problem. it is equipped with a roller furler, but attaches the same. just let the sail roll over the lifeline for big beam reaches and pull it inside the lifelines for close reach.

Shroud rollers...

..attached to the lifelines at the stanchions will ease the genoa across the lifelines. Available at WM among others. http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|118|107602|297680&id=678925
