Hunter 240 Lake Wallenpaupack
Good morning,

I recently purchased a Hunter 240 after not owning a sailboat for about 12 years. I am having trouble rigging the main sail in particular where the bottom of the main sail meets the boom as well as on the boom itself. Does anyone have any pictures of a rigged Hunter 240 or any suggestions? I would really appreciate your input.

Thanks,
Eric

I'm new to the H240 myself and absolutely love the boat. I attached the sail to the boom first. The sail slugs just insert into the track. The boom has three lines inside it. One is the topping lift and attaches to the cable coming back off the top of the mast. The second is the outhaul line and attaches to the clew of the mainsail. The third is your reefing line(mine came with a small pulley) and runs to the reef point (grommet) on the main sail and back down to the boom and through reef line bale(use a stop knot). Connect the boom to the gooseneck and make sure the swivel for reefing is rotated up. Unscrew and remove the sail stop in the track on the mast. Attach the halyard to the head of the sail and feed the sail slugs into the track. Replace the sail stop and you should be all set.

You can see photos of the 240 if you will look under the boat info and pull up the 240. Also look under modifications but if you do, one thing to mention max heel for the boat should not be over 14 degrees and if you install wheel steering on the 240, you will take space away from the rear berth which will be utterly useless to sleep in. You will find the owners manual as well there too. If this does not resolve the information you requested plus the description from carribeanknight1, then let us know.
