After re-stepping the mast I am spending hours chasing the tensioning of the rigging! It seems quite simple to take up any slack and then hand tighten each shroud until they are equal, having done this several times in a different order I end up with a slight compression bend in the mast! Most boats
have a certain amount of pre-bend built in. An inch or three is not uncommon. Talk to a rigger in your area who knows your boat. The more pre-bend there is, the more weather helm/the less lee helm you'll get.
