rig for 2005 hunter 31

we are about to buy a 2006 hunter 31 (actually it a 2005 but like 2006 forward). do you know of any problems with this type rig - it does have roller furling main and jib. we hope to see six knots or a bit more often - is that expectation reasonable? thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Well, we seem to have a big "hole" in the Boat Info. tab for the newer 31, but the '99 310 specs. show a hull speed of 7.1 knts. You might compare your loa-low, etc., but my guess is that with a clean bottom, best sail configuration, and folding prop. you should see mid 6s in 12-15 knts of wind, especially with wind off the quarters.

i would call up sailtime. they have a ton of these boats and will even take you for an introductory sail!! i bet they know this boat pretty well. the group in chicago are great and i think they own miami too.

Not sure what you mean by 2006 forward, the 2005 is the same as is the 2004. We have an '05 H33, it will do 6.5 knots in 15 knots wind, hull speed is 7.27. Your hull speed is around 7.1, so should do close to the same.
