Has any other 410 owner had a problem with the welded spreader bases tearing a section of mast away? Our 410 is one of two in the same charter fleet, and both have the same problem, putting them out of charter and out of survey. This is a very serious problem for us as you can imagine because it means that the whole mast section needs to be replaced. These vessels are 1998 models. According to the Hunter factory, Charleston Spars have been using this welding technique for many years without incident. However, on examining all other Hunters in our marina (including a slightly later model 410) they all have the spreaders bolted to the mast.
