Hi everyone
Did anyone consider, found a possible supplier of a fixed sprayhood? I am looking at the ways how to extend my boating season in the PNW by installing a fixed cockpit enclosure. These may require extending the sprayhood all the way aft to cover steering wheel position but this should be easy if I have a starting point. Making it from scratch/one-off seems tb very expensive./ik

Do you mean dodger? Unfamiliar with your term. Is your current dodger soft (fabric) or hard (FRP). We cruise year-around, with a fabric dodger and bimini. I've tried a full cockpit enclosure, but disliked its confinement; to each his own.

Hi Terry
Indeed I should be using the American description - dodger. At the moment I have a full cockpit enclosure from canvas but it is good for winter storage in Vancouver, BC. I am looking for Al- fibreglass enclosure with rolled sides made out of canvas. Main part of it will be dodger with good windows. I hope that this will allow me to do at least some motoring early in the spring and late in the autumn. With some heating in the cockpit.
I am looking for contact to someone who is building such enclosures or maybe did it already on his boat.
Another issue to sort out is access for storing mainsail. On Legend 40.5 boom is very high from deck. With age doing high wire exercises is not easy. I had Dutchman flaking which was causing a lot of problem and not flaking as well as promised. In 2023 I replaced it with a stack pack, which is not a big improvement, especially for single hand ops. Getting to the bag requires to step on the dodger, which not strong enough. Folding boom or mast could be a solution but the cost is very high. Rigid dodger could be an option. /ik
