RF Jib-1986 Oday 272 (install before stepping mast?)

Just got this boat. Have sailed a 22' for many years. This has RF jib. Do I need to attach the roller furling jib before mast stepping? Have no experience with RF Jibs. Also, had my rudder/tiller stolen. Anyone know of a 84" tall rudder available?

no, you want to step your mast first and have it secure before hoisting the headsail.
