I am rewiring my mast, My problem is all the wires ar just through the deck and siliconed. This cannot be right!! Their must be a thrudeck fitting for all the wiring to go through. I have been looking but cannot find anything. Please HELP!! Thanks, Jim

Some lazy people just drill a hole ,stuff the wire through
and over fill the hole with caulk. There are several acceptable methods of making a watertight deck penetration. Some involve special fittings listed in the catalogs and some are made to industrial standards. I used industrial methods and placed all of my wire inside conduit that can be disconnected at the deck level for removing the mast.

Jim, If interested, check out my upgrade from holes in the deck to thru-glands. I hope it helps. Cost - $20 for the Blue Seas through deck, $6 for the metal Coax deck fitting, and I used about $25 worth of Shakespeare Centerpin coax connectors from West Marine. It sure looks better and is easy to disconnect if you need to change wires. A better solution would be with the actual connections inside, but I would have had to replace the cable in the mast to get enough length. It still works well, so the extra 40+ feet of coax at @$1.80 per foot was not necessary. You don't mention where the connections, if any, are. You may be able to cut your wires, install the thru hull and make whatever necessary connection (coax and electrical) inside the boat. Good luck.
