I'm puzzled. Whenever I try and use AC power red light indicating "reverse polarity" lights up. Occasionally I would get that light but now it’s on all the time and I get no usable AC power. Anyone have a clue what might be causing this? thanks Dan Illusions

Wires crossed

Either your marina or your boat is miswired. Get one of those three-prong outlet testers at Home Depot and plug it into your marina shore power outlet (using the appropriate adapter, of course). If it shows problems with the marina, drag the manager over there and show him/her. If it's not the marina at fault, drag an electrician over to your boat instead.

I had that happen three years ago and

found that the master circuit breaker for the AC was "weak" and subject to tripping. My electrician replaced the circuit breaker and all has been fine since then!!

shore power connection

if this just started happening it could be your shore power cord isn't getting a tight connection. try twisting it and see if it works

Bad Shore Power Cord

Had the same problem 3 years ago, replaced shore power cord and everything has been fine. Cost me about $45.

BINGO (not the dog)

Thanks all! After a few of my favorite beverages I noticed the prongs on my shore power cord were shorter than my neighbors. Grabbed a hold of the prongs with a pair of pliers and pulled them out a bit, wonder of wonders it worked. I will replace the power cord. many thanks happy sailing Dan SV Illusions

Check breaker first

I had the same weak breaker problem someone else writes about when I bought my boat. After much investigation we found it was a weak breaker out back on the power inlet panel. Replaced it and all is fine. Have since had a problem and that breaker went bad again. Same reverse polarity light, same problem, etc...
