Retrofitting A/C into my Legend 35.5

Hi there! I'm in planning phase of my install of an 10K BTU AC unit into my '94 Legend 35.5. We went with the 10K unit for a couple of reasons, firstly we wanted to install it in the storage area at the base under the v-berth so we were limited in size, secondly we were focusing on cooling the v-berth and salon with this unit, and adding a smaller shoe-box type 4K BTU unit in the aft cabin later (I didn't want to run duct work all over the place, and lastly we didn't want to add additional service to the boat (basically this seemed to be the biggest unit that our panel could carry)

Anyway, we've measured everything out and it all looks like it's going to fit, now I'm in the final phases of parts purchasing and route planning for the hoses, etc.

That's where my question comes in:

We're planning on using the intake from the raw water line to the head (we converted the head to fresh water) so my thought is to run hoses from the intake to rear-midship bilge (where the shower typically drains to), where I will install the strainer and march pump. From there I'll route through the forward bilge running up to the unit itself. If I understand correctly the strainer and pump need to be below water line and I should be good with a 300 GPH pump. I'm thinking of using 5/8 reinforced clear hose (probably from Defender) for effectively everything.

As for wiring I'm using 12 AWG marine back to a 30AMP breaker on the panel and my unit has a tie in to start the pump so it'll be wired through the unit itself.

Installing the unit itself, I'll be cutting out the opening into the v-berth by about 2 inches all around and I'm having a new hatch made for the return. the floor of that little locker is solid and we're going to make it so that the unit can slide out in order to access underneath of there (where the transducers for the depth and speed are).

The duct is pretty straightforward as I have about a 40 inch run through the starboard side v-berth closet and I'm going to T-off the 6" hose so that one side dumps into the the salon with a rectangular vent and the other side has a smaller round vent for the v-berth. The temp controls and such will be below the vent about 18 inches or so

Does this all sound about right or am I off the mark??

Thanks so much for any and all advice!!
