I owned my sail boat back in 1996-1999. I'm appying for my captains license and need to show proof that I owned it. I have no records and can't remember who I insured it through. I did register it with the Catalina Club and remember getting a burgee and newsletters about great information on my boat. I believe it was before this website was around. I'm hoping that there is some investigation process that someone can help me with. The previous name that the boat had since it's conception was "TERRA" out of Dana Point, CA. I renamed her "Bill Me 'n April., that's when I moved her up to Newport Beach,CA. Any help on this would be most Apreciated. William(Bill) Pollock billpollock@mac.com No solicitors please

If you joined the C22 Association

since you got the newsletters, they may still have a record of your boat in their membership files. Try the C22 Association.

State Register or Coast Guard Doc?

if not just give up! You never owned the boat!

State registrar

I had the same problem when I applied for my master's license. I sent a letter to the state registrar (Washignton State) with the state registration numbers - several boats in this case (I hope you can find that). They sent me back a notarized letter indicating which boats I owned during which years. There should be a record with the state showing when you initially registered the boat and when the title was subsequently transferred to another party. This worked for me! Best of luck, Trevor
