Keith: I found Performance Yacht had the best price on line. You can also have West Marine or some of the other stores price match if you want to do some shopping. www.pyacht.com

Steve is right,

usually. :) In fact I just bought new spinnaker sheets from PYacht, saved a bundle. But I have been buying my halyards from Sailnet. They are pre-spliced with very good shackles. And very reasonably priced. Check the Related Link. An aside, the detail says "snap shackle" but I have purchased three and they were all captive pin shackles. I would not buy a halyard with a snap shackle. So call before ordering.

I also vote for PYacht. On Steve's advice I bought from them a couple of days ago. Price was right, no sales tax and only $10 for shipping. Paid about 40% less than either of the "Big 2" catalog prices.

I agree with the others

I have purchased lines from Sailnet, West Marine and a couple of others. Defender Marine has some good prices also. I also purchased a pusher and some fids and found that with a little time and practice, doing your own splices isn't too bad - and saves @ $15 a pop. Two splices will recoup the cost of the splicing kit and from that point on, you can save a fair amount of money. If you have any of the bigger suppliers in your area, you can sometimes find miscut or spool end lines at a bit of a savings. Ray

Pyacht

We replaced every inch of running rigging (and added some) with Sta-Set and Sta-Set-X from pyacht. Good prices and good service.

THANKS EVERYONE

I appreciate all the input. Checked them all and overall sailnet had the best price for halyard. Register on line for a 10% discount plus free shipping for over $100 order. However, pyacht was a few cents less/foot for the other line. Thanks again everyone.

Sailnet

Try Sailnet. A 7/16 by 115 ft prespliced main halyard with spliced in shackel will run you about $65.00. If you order is over $100 the shipping is free. www.sailnet.com Do not put on oversize halyards. They will bind and make it difficult to raise and lower sails.
