This past weekend we got the boat onto the trailer, but after driving about a quarter of a mile and parking, I noticed the swing centerboard was NOT on the keel tray, which is a carpeted 2x6 board. So I skedaddled back to the ramp, re-floated, and re-centered her.
I really don't want this to happen again, so I thought of various prevention schemes, like tightening up the gap between the trailer's guide posts, or some kind of "funneling" boards on the existing keel tray. But then it occurred to me that maybe adding the same size board on either side of the existing one might be the most optimal.
Has anyone here expanded their keel tray, or otherwise modified it some way to ensure centerboard seating?
