Repowering a 30 oday

I have a 30 Oday with a 12 Yanmar and want to know what the best engine to repower with.

Repowering a 30 O'day

Good MorningMy wife and I own a 31' O'day, which is essentially the same boat. We had an M-18 (14HP)that basically struggled to get out of it's own way.We repowered over the past winter with a 3GM30F which provides 27 HP. With the new 3-blade prop, it performs extremely well. Mind you, the economy has gone from .25/hr usage to just over .50/HR. But the trade off is fine with me.

I saw that you were in New Bedford. Who did the repower for you? Did they do a good job and any advise in dealing with them.
