Has anyone else relocated the Genoa winches back to the gunnel on either side of the captains seat? I relocated them and have had great luck singlehanding the genoa with greater speed and accuracy. I also put some line locks which makes handling the genoa very easy. It also seems to make the boat more responsive, as the pull of the sheet is located farther aft. I will have some photos later. Ketch Yawl later.

How Do You Cleat The Sheets?

I've added winches to the aft corners of the cockpit of my 26M but need to add some cam cleats to handle the sheets. Some have suggested using Winchers but I'm not sure I trust them.

use of spinlocks PX Powercleats

Hello Tony. I am sorry for not getting back earlier. I used Spinlocks PX Powercleats in front of the winches. This allows you to pull in the sheets by winch or hand, and as soon as the sheet is released it locks in position until you release it by simply rocking the cleat forward. Very neat and clean operating. The only problem I have is when the wind really pipes up and the 150 Genoa is a little much for the cleats, they tend to release. The matter is easy by just tying off the sheet to the cleat behind the winch, which is factory installed. Any more questions, and I will be glad to help. Ketch Yawl later.
