I am searching for information regarding the replacement of the Centerboard Pendant on a 17 fts O'day daysailer. I have removed the centerboard and the line is attached internally. My first thought is to drill the whole our and inspect it further. But I am concerned that may cause damage. I welcome any help or comments. Bryan

Rod Johnson,

This is normal

You don't say how old your DS II is, or which pendant you are refering to. On my 1979 DS II, the pendant to lift the board is a stainless-steel cable and is attached by a stainless-steel tang that is screwed to the top of the CB with 3 screws. The pendant to lower the board is a 5/16" Dacron line, that is inserted in a hole near the bottom, forward corner of the CB and knotted in a recess. That recess was orginially puttied over, but it is not hard to chip out the filler (putty) to access the knot. I have a diagram of the CB rigging for the DS II that is in the expanded Owners Manual that I have created.
