We need to replace the unsightly cabinway entrance "boards on our 1986 23.5. Does anyone know what kind of wood hunter used, it seems to be a marine plywood, with a veneer, its the type of veneer we can't figure out. Is there somewhere we can get a replacement, or is constructing your own the only method. We are not above making our own, but prefer finding something already premade Thanks in advance to all Mike O'Connor "mikeyoski@monmouth.com"

Solid Boards

My '93 has solid pin boards. They probably aren't teak but a coat coating of oil each year has kept them in nice shape. Solid ones should be available from Hunter. My boards are lasting better than than Plexiglass which along with the windows is showing internal "sparkles" caused by too much sunlight. How about one large single board? I don't remember ever using just one or two boards. Ken S/V Wouff Hong

Hatch covers

I believe you probably have the same as I had on my '87 23.5. They were teak veneer over marine plywood. I made new ones using solid 3/4 in. aspen which is also fine grained and finished them with Cetol. They came close to matching the rest of the teak trim.
