Hello all, has anyone out there ever replaced the cabin windows? I have a 1971 Ranger 29 and all four cabin windows are cracked. They are double paned glass and still watertight, so its just a cosmetic issue. I am interested in replacing them with glass, but am wondering if this is a bigger, messier job than it is worth. Also, perhaps I should consider something besides glass. Thanks for any input!

Avoid Glass..

If you can,I'd avoid glass and use some type of (possibly tinted to keep out some UV) Acrylic.Wont shatter or (for the most part) crack and will last for more years than you'll likely keep the boat.I've had results with it in my last boat. Good Luck>>>David

You have a 35 year old boat with cracked glass

Lancerdude says that glass is not a good choice. I don't know of any clear plastic that lasts as well. If you can get them out, take them to an auto glass shop and ask for new glass. Then they will be good for another 35 years.
