I have purchased replacement windows from D&R but need some details on replacement procedure. Also, what is the best type and brand of adhesive to use? I'm not sure of compatibility of polyurethanes with the plexiglas. From earlier posts, I understand that the window outside the viewing area needs to be blacked out. Can ordinary black spray paint be used or will it reduce the grip of the adhesive? Does the adhesive need to be black? Any advice appreciated. Also, I've found www.rigrite.com to be a source for spar parts, stanchions & bases, chain plates, etc. for the 272.

I re-did my windows about 4 years ago, right before I sold my 272. I used Lexan instead of getting the windows from Rudy, but should not be any different. I just used a good flat black spray enamel to black out the window. Set the window with one or two screws and mask off the edge for a nice finished caulk edge. Remove the window and apply a good Black caulking compound, I think I used Life Caulk. Screw the window in place until snug. Let the caulk set up for about 10 minutes (based on the type). Then tighten the screws . Remove the masking tape before the caulk sets up completely. Still looked good last season. Good luck. Jeff
