I am having trouble finding a VHF with the same or close to the same configuration as the factory installed Apelco 5160. The situation is further complicated by the autohelm's position relative to the console. Hard to find units with MIke on the left,Antenna connection on the right rear, and a low profile face that does not protude out so far as to make contact with the autohelm. I would like to upgrade to another VHF with the DSC feature. My Hunter is a 1995 29.5 model.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you Vic Bushnell

For and Icom 422 DSC (I thinks it s the model)in the salon in place of the Apelco, then ran a remote mic to the helm. My unit is mounted on the forward side of the last port side storage 'cupboard' above the fridge. the remote was a little difficult to thread but hey...it's a boat!!! works for me!!! Neil
