Has anyone with a 26.5 replaced the original Hunter supplied sail-pac motor mount for one that can handle the newer four strokes that have more torque. My problem seems to be the steep angle of the reversed transom. It seems to be that the new mount has to be raised and wedged to make the engine hang straight. How did you compensate for this. The dealer that is selling me the Honda 9.9 wants to make an aluminum wedge that would bolt to the boat first and then use a heavier stainless steel mount. Several people looking at the original sail pac reinforced fiberglass bracket have told me it can not handle the torque of the new four strokes. Any help out there.
