Check the Catalina Store

Scroll down this page to the bottom. Click on the left hand menu & scroll down to Catalina Owner Store. Click Go! & you'll be there. On the right side of that page you'll see a listing for the top 10 products - companionway doors is #6. They're gorgeous! LaDonna

why?

I've seen those "beautiful" hinged doors, and it seems to me, once you get past the pretty, that they will ALWAYS be in the way, of either lines mounted equipment or people leaning against the bulkhead. Ya wanny spend your $ buy the canvas partitioned bag to hold the "origional" door, down below out of the way.

Heres why....

those damn slats drive me nuts! My original teak ones were gone long ago:( and i have plywood now. I would like to have the shutters to be able to close the companionway when the weather gets rough..but after checking the cost of those beautiful doors ive decided to make some new slats myself.. I love Ripple but am beginning to realize that she will aways be a 4-5 thousand dollar 22foot boat no matter what i do.. but man those teak doors sure are pertty! ;)
