I have rot in my cabin sole and I am thinking of replacing it. It is the section just under the setee and the table on the starboard side. First question, Is this a difficult job, second where do I acquire the matching materials?

sole refit

Terry: I'm doing a refit to the entire sole on a H37 cutter using "Lonseal" (the vinyl to which Chuck was referring). Just shelled out $600 for an 11' sheet. I may have some big scrap pieces left over. It will take me about a month, so check back. I'll try to post pix. There is one photo series in the archives on this forum...search for keyword "Lonseal". cheers, RS

check out EBay

I recently found a piece of 1/2" ply with holly/teak veneer. I'm only replacing a small section so the piece I got was more than enough for my purposes. If I remember, I think it was about $120 or so for a piece about 4'x4'

sole input

Thanks for the input gents, I just got an email from hunter, who reports that Marine Lumber Supply is where they go to get materials for the sole in boats of this vintage. I will call them today and see what the prices are. Unfortunately, I have no idea where this project ends -- the rot was only obvious under the table. I truly hope I can get away with pulling only the starboard piece up. Thanks again.
