Easy on a trailer
Howard: I found replacing the cable for the swing keel of my 1975 C 22 an easy job after jacking the hull several inches above the trailer bunks. Its also a good time to replace the hose above the thru hull through which the cable passes, and its clamp, and to check out the turning ball within. The turning ball on my boat was worn and it too was easy to replace. Be sure you get the new cable on the correct side of the turning ball when you install it. The cable presses hard against the ball when the weight of the keel is on the cable. If wrong, the cable will cut into the thru-hull. Check how your old cable was installed relative to the turning ball as you go through the replacement process. My new parts all came from Catalina Direct. Dick
