with merriman out of business the replacement of the mainsheet blocks is a nightmare- the schaffer or harken eye pads do not line up with the original pad holes and the harken and schaffer blocks are too big to go thru the original eye pads- has anyone found a replacement for the blocks that will fit the original eye pads? Plan B is to grind off the heads of the original grommets of the worn out sheaves replace the sheves, use the old grommett as a sleeve and put in a locking nut and screw. any other methods out there- i prefer the replacement with all new blocks

Easier and cheaper to just do the sheaves

I replaced just the sheaves on mine, obtained from Shaffer web site. The price for three was cheaper than cost of just one whole block. I drilled out the original grommet and replaced with a stainless clevis, washer and cotter pin. Did this about 2 years ago and they are still doing fine.
