Replacing original Teleflex engine control

On my 2000 340, I need to replace the original Teleflex Side Mount Engine Control Throttle.
I've spoken with Hunter, and they say I have a Teleflex 172103 model and a Morse/Teleflex cable (18' long)
It is very stiff and has become almost impossible to shift.
Has anyone replaced theirs and if so with what?

We replaced ours on our Hunter Vision 36. We also replaced the shifter.

Order the correct cables from the HOW Store.

Feeding the new cables

Thanks Steve and Phil,

Great information and photos. Did you run into any problems running the new cables? My thoughts were to connect the old cable to the new and guide both through. Like I did when I ran new sewage and engine heater hoses, to replace them. How did you get yours into place?
Are the new cables able to handle very tight bends? Some Edson cables I saw could be bent to better than 90 degrees and still slid smoothly.
