Replacing my Navman Tracker5600 GPS Chart Plotter

Does anyone have any knowledge of SD Card upgrades for my Navman Tracker 5600? I really like this unit. Easy to use, read and see from any angle. It works perfectly but has long out dated charts.
I am still trying to get C-Map to answer me as to a possible upgrade of some sort. But no luck there.
This chart plotter had a lot going for it.
I’m looking for input with you for other options in a simple standalone GPS Chart plotter. Not looking to integrate it with any other devices, as there are none. Just a nice screen on my pedestal showing me where I am.
Thank you in advance.

Take a trip down to West Marine and spend some time looking at the options. Play with the buttons and dials, check out the touch screens, see which one strikes your fancy. For simple navigation, it doesn't much matter whether you go with Garmin, Ray Marine, or B&G. Also check out the screen sizes. Personally I find 7" screens too small and 12+" screens too big. 9" is a sweet spot.

It is easy to get bogged down in the esoterica the different devices offer. Unless you have a specific need, like fishing or racing, the esoterica won't matter much.

I agree, you can get bogged down in the features. This model has about an 8” screen, just right. Given its age, it has great clarity. Pretty much simple navigation, show me whats there and how deep.

When you get hardware you like it can be very frustrating when the manufacture shuts the doors.
The Navman hardwares is not longer being made You may find help on e-Bay.

Your chartpolotter was marketed in the early 2000s’. Here is a link to a Manual.

Yachting Mag did a nice article about the plotter in 2007. Navman Tracker 5600 Plotter | Yachting

One site suggests that C-Map stopped programming the proprietary card that fit the NavMan Tracker, back around 2010.

I did find this site that may be helpful.

Good luck.

Thank you John, I do have the manual for the Chart Plotter, just not the unit. That’s on the boat and our winter here just won’t stop enough for me to climb on the boat yet. So I can’t get the card just yet. That’s why I asked if anyone had information on the card for their Navman. Someone else may have the same chart plotter, worth a shot.
I’ll start looking for a replacement in the mean time that fits well on my pedestal.
Defender Marine is having their yearly sale in the next week. I can see most if not all the available plotters up close then.
Thank you all. If I do hear back from C-Map I’ll be sure to update everyone.

Dave, that’s my thing for today. Going to head to Newport and look at West Marine. Last year when I replaced my VHF, I went to West Marine and found 4 to choose from and a wall of holes with wires hanging out. They just didn’t have the inventory. Hope to find more today.

The GPSstore is worth a look. I’ve got electronics from them. Garmin is the big player currently. I am partial to the Furuno product line. They have been hardware used by commercial fishing.

Look for a product that you find intuitive to operate. When things get hairy on the water you don’t want to have to look for a manual in order to operate the plotter.
