The axel in the masthead crane does not allow proper rotation of sheaves on forward axel. Would it be of an advantage to redrill for the axel or attempt to replace with a new masthead crane since Isomat is no longer in business?
I rebuilt the mast (after a truck move) on my '85 h40 this spring. The axel can be removed and polished. New sheaves may be needed if the old ones are weathered. The whole thing wasn't bad, my wife and I did all the work ourselves. Good luck. Mike sends S/V Camelot
