Replacing Mast Track Slides

All,One of the stock track slide D rings has broken on my C28. I haven't been up the mast yet this year, I just want to know what I'll see when I get up there to replace it. Can I just drop new slides down into the mast track from the top? Anything special I need to know about?Mike ElmoreWindward HullCatalina 28-Hull #7

Mike, I don't think you need to go aloft?There is a cut out just above where the boom joins the mast, usually with a screw that allows u to replace the cut out so the main doesn't fall out of the track.. On top there is a mast cap that won't allow the slides to come out. you will need to sew the new slides to your main using a piece of nylon strap or just use the old one if it is in good shape.
