Since my line for raising and lowering my swing keel had started to fray,I decided to replace it before it fails. We lifted the boat out of the water in a sling,and dropped the swing keel all the way down, to inspect the line connecting to it. We can see where the rope goes into the swing keel(from the rear) but we cannot see how the lne is secured to the swing keel. Does anyone have any photos,descriptions, and step by step instructions how to do it ?? Thanks in advance.

Centerboard Line
I called Hunter about this, after I did not see a response in your first posting. The centerboard needs to be removed from the boat, to access the line. In front of the compression post on the inside of the cabin, there is a small cover held by (4?)screws. Remove the cover, and you will see a large nut. This is what holds the whole centerboard. Remove the nut to drop the centerboard assembly from the boat. Replace the line, then re-Install. See the attached link.

The two above responses are correct.
I replaced the line on my H26. Same mechanism I think. You will probabily need three people - two to raise the center board back in place and one inside to put the bolt back in. Also suggest caulking heavly around the bold after tightning it to keep water from entering the cabin.

I wrote a detailed description of how we did it. Definitely need to drop the whole thing and need at least 2 strong people to hold it up while you reattach the bolt.
