I am close to buying a 1987 C30 with a fin keel, my dock can only take 4'8" at low tide. Is it a straight swap for the shoal or winged keel? Does anyone want to swap their shoal for the fin? Or should I just start dredging! I have checked the archive but could not find much on this.

Saw it off

I remember reading an article on a fellow who cut the bottom of the keel and built a fin on the bottom. It would be pretty easy if the boat were out of the water anyway. This did not look that precise or hard to do. I am sure there is a fin keel somewhere in a yard near to you for an example

Wing Keel or Mars Keel

Why not look for a wing keel C30? They only draw 3'10". If you are set on buying the fink keel and want to spend the $$$$$'s check out Mars Keels, they probably have a solution for you by chopping off a few inches off the bottom of the keel and adding a torpedo bulb. http://www.marsmetal.com/newpages/torpedobulbs.html
