Replacing hoses. Tank too?

The hoses on our 1989 Pearson 31 are definitely permeated so replacing them is on the "to do" list this winter. We looked at the holding tank & it seems fine - no cracks, wear, leaks, or anything; however, it is original to the boat. Should we be looking at replacing the tank too? I don't want to replace a perfectly good tank, but I don't want my holding tank spilling into my bilge in a few years either. How long do they last?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Unless it's metal. If it is, replace it now BEFORE it starts to leak....'cuz it will. Otoh, a good quality PE tank should last as long as the hull unless it's neglected or abused.
