Replacing Holding Tank Monitor on Hunter 290

Good Morning, I want to replace the Holding tank monitor on my Hunter 290 but went in pull it out of the tank, before I can get it all the way out the top of it hits the the deck floor / cabin ceiling. How do you get it out and put a new one in?

I know someone is going to say why bother, but it has been broken for years, and every time we take a trip, I am always pumping it out, as I never know how full it is, and it is too much of a pain in the neck to visually check the tank.

Not familiar with the 290. It sounds like you have to move the tank though. Or...if it's plastic, get a new foil type sensor that sticks to the outside of the tank and leave the old one in.
I installed a monitor over the winter. I agree, it's handy to know your status.

Justin gave you good advice.. The Profile system Profile Tank Monitors is the best on the market. Check out the Solo (single tank) version. If yours is a Wema, the wiring for it won't work with the Profile, so just cut it and run new wiring.
