So, I'm replacing all my standing rigging this year. It's a first for me at least when it comes to replacing the headstay inside my Harkin #0 furler. I've purchased all the stays and shrouds from CD and got a extra long headstay with a bare end (minus the terminal end).
I opened up the furler housing and found a swedged terminal (which of course has to be cut off to remove the cable from the foil)
My questions are: Do Boatyards/Riggers have a portable swedger that they bring out to the boat to install a new terminal? (obviously I don't want to carry around a 40' foil and it sound expensive!).
Or: should I buy a Norsmen/Sta-lok terminal and do it myself (I'm a mechanic).
Thanks in advance for any input.

Well the questions have been answered for me by Harken. They suggest the Sta-lok. They agree that it will probably be a shot in the dark getting a reliable/competent swedge job done at my boat. The Sta-lok is only $50.00
