I want to replace the cracked and leaking sun ports located on the forward deck / V-berth. Any ideas regarding replacement / retrofit would be appreciated.

Try Rudy - Rudy Nickerson D and R Marine 14 Water Street P.O. Box 921 Assonet, MA. 02702 (508) 644-3001 If not, Lewmar, Bomar, or Beckson may have something that will work. I'd try Lewmar first. Justin - O'day Owners' Web

If I'm not mistaken, those are Beckson Rain Drains. They go for about $90 out of West Marine. In fact, I'm will be replacing mine this spring as well. Russ

Foredeck portlights

These things are a design flaw. Our surveyor picked up on them and asked us to imagine green water coming aboard and smashing those little plastic portlights. You'd have fire hoses into the V-berth. Nothing holds them in place but glue and they are only a quarter inch of plastic. I replaced them with 3" bronze portlights, practically a drop-in. They are through bolted to the deck and the finish ring on the inside. The glass is heavy. You don't have to worry about walking on these or dropping things, let alone green seas. I believe they cost $50 each and well worth it.
