I'm looking at a '76 Catalina 27 to buy and the keel bolts and nuts are rotten. What does it take to replace them? Do they go up through the keel or are they built into the top of the keel? Thanks.
Have you had it surveyed? I would be surprised if they were completely disintegrated. If they're simply rusty, I wouldn't be toooo worried although it could be a potential concern. If it bothers you, hire a surveyor - they'll be able to tell you whether the bolts need to be replaced and the best procedure for it. LaDonna
