I have an electric marine toilet, Jabsco Model 37010, and would like to replace it with a manual. The pump is badly corroded, and I'd rather do it now than when it fails. Can I disconnect the bowl and remount it to a Raritan PH-II pump assembly? A new pump assembly is a good deal less expensive than an entirely new head. Thanks.

Peggie..

Thanks for the answer. I just wasn't sure what was included in the "pump assembly". Now I know. As for the "why", a new electric is 2-3 times more than a manual, and it will save on precious battery. I'm also trying to teach kids about conservation...not everything can be achieved by the push of a button. But mostly, it's about the upfront cost. Thanks.

You've been shopping at the wrong stores...

The price difference between a PH II and a SeaEra "conversion" is only $67 from these folks: http://www.boatfix.com/elec/rartoi.asp And you might even be able to beat their prices if you keep looking. As for power consumption...the sea water version of the SeaEra only draws 16 amps...the pressurized flush water version draws only 10. But, it's your boat, your choice, and they're both fine toilets. I just want to make sure you're basing your choice on accurate information.
