I need to replace a faulty depthsounder transducer on my 1985 H28.5. Any tricks involvced in removing the cabin sole to get at the location?

On my '87

model, the transducer was mounted forward of the keel, just to starboard of centerline. The transducer was located just inside the lower bulkhead that formed the base for the v-berth. Didn't have to mess w/cabin sole. Pull up the horseshoe shaped cushion that makes up the forward part of setee and the bottom cushions and it should be in a compartment just forward of there.

Thanks a lot!

That sounds like a small blessing. I was afraid that I might really have a mess if the sole had to be removed.

Location?

Hopefully yours is in the same location. For what it's worth, I replaced my original with a Raytheon 365 with bronze thru hull that has been fabulous. Gives you depth with graphics, speed, log, water temp. and the transducer fit the existing hole. Good luck.
