Is there a friendly local woodworker who could laminate a few for you?

What happened to the original ones?

On our H31 they were cracked

My son sripped them repaired with epoxy, and revarnished.

To keep them from braking again, I bought a used heavy duty Stainless kitchen sink from Habitat Restore for $20 and cut sections out of it to the size and shape of the steps.

Remounted the steps with the additional stainless supports under them, and have had no issues since.

Gary: If you choose to refinish/repair/reinforce your old steps save the sanding residue to mix with epoxy to fill in and color blend any chunks that may be missing or to smooth any repair joints. The plates under the steps surely did strengthen the ones that pateco repaired! I also bought SeaDog tread plates for the top surface of our companionway step treads. At the time they were $2 each, so I could not pass them up. RE: pateco's project........So well done that the duck tape doesn't even show!

Thanks for the reply
This job is much more than fix/replace have to go with new
Flat steps would be absolutely no prob but I want contoured ones for when the boat is hauling ass
Have found many sources for sharp looking flat ones but so far none for the bent ones
Did you guys see Buffett at NYC last night on TV !!!!

Happy New Year
Anyone done this job?????
