I have a 1996 Catalina 270 which appears to have the original aluminium fuel tank installed. It is weeping sludge and will be replaced with a locally made s/s tank with approximately the same dimension/capacity. Does anyone have experience of removal of existing tanks ? I have read the only option is via the right lazarette. Any experience or suggestions as to how best to undertake this task ?
