I've somehow lost my jib sheet for the 75% sail.
Anyone know how long it should be by default?
Any suggestions for where to get a nice, soft, thick & strong rope like that?
Pull the sail out, attach a small diameter tag line, run the line to your cockpit winch, remove the line. measure (likely 55 ft) and go to your local or online marine chandlery OR Catalinadirect Sheet, Jib, CP-22 (catalinadirect.com) to purchase 5/16" diameter Samson XLS3 or equal, with the lines whipped at both ends of you want. Samson XLS or equal has some stretch and is soft.
That length likely total for two or 27.5 ft each obtained that from a Catalina 22 owner on this forum. Catalinadirect says 40 ft of 3/8" Sheet, Jib, CP-22 (catalinadirect.com) and sailboat owner.com store below says 31 ft of 5/16" Running Rigging Calculator (sailboatowners.com). Given the wide discrepancy is why I always advocate measuring the maximum length required for all the sails.
