replacing benchtops

The white benchtops on our B393 2 cabin are looking a little worse for wear and she who rules the waves insists they need to be replaced. I was thinking of having new ones made from 'corian' to a template from the old ones. BUT.... looking at removing them seems a big task as they extend under the cabinetry cupboards both above the stove and the sink unit.

Anyone attempted this task before?

Replacing counter tops is a major job. Some 423's developed cracks in theirs and Beneteau sent a craftsman around who replaced them. I watched him on a boat in Charleston and it is major work. Maybe a 423 owner can give you more info.
