I did it twice
I have a Yanmar 3HM35F and had it done a few years ago when it snapped just as I shut down aftyer entering a slip. I had the yard do an emergency job ans they did it the following day. The guy new what he was doing and dropped the pedestal down in order to work on it. That made it easier to thread the new cable. The job took 1.5 hours. Quick & dirty and about $150 (35 parts, rest labor). That was then. I had it done at my yard (throttle and shift cables - as preventive maintenance)last week and I have no idea how they did it, but the bill floored me. I haven't talked to them about it, but I don't think I will be satisfied with the price. I'm too embarrassed to publish the price. All I can say now is to get an estimate and have them stick to it. Good Luck!Been there, done that!
