Replacement windlass for the Leroy Somer MTB 82

I am looking for a replacement for a Leroy MTB 85 windlass. It was the original windlass fitted to a 2000 Oceanis 361. Are there any windlasses that will fit and can just be bolted in without modification to the deck or access locker. Ideally the mounting bolt pattern would be the same. Any ideas would be appreciated. The yacht is berthed in Australia.

I found that the Lewmar H3 worked pretty well. Yes the 3” chain hole was needing to be recut and two of the four mounting studs needed new holes but the new basically had the same footprint as the old Leroy Somers windlass

The Leroy MTB85 has a vertical shaft and rope capstan on the deck. I wanted to replace it with a similar vertical shaft windlass.

For your size of boat I suspect Lewmar V3 windlass would function. You would need to assure that you have adequate vertical fall for the chain into the locker.

Likely you will not find an exact match to install the vertical windlass. It requires a large hole to handle the motor attachment. You just fill in the horizontal holes and locate the windlass to use the hole you used to drop the chain into the anchor locker.
