Hello everyone.
I have a 1997 376. She has been very nicely maintained but is beginning to need things. Unfortunately it seems that the gear I need to buy is not defined well anywhere, or so it seems.
When I had the boat surveyed, before I bought her last July, the rigging surveyor said that the Windex needed replacement. That one of the mounting legs was broken.
So, off in search of a replacement. Windexes are easy to find and inexpensive. But, which one fits?
I'm replacing the mainsail halyard, so a rigger will be up there anyway. If I have the proper windex, in hand, he'll have to make a single trip up the mast.
Any ideas?
Ah! I'm replacing the mainsail halyard because the sail binds, with about a foot more travel required to make it taut. The halyard was old. The section that rides over the sheave warn. The halyard parted, fortunately when I was docked, trying to figure out what was making the sail bind.
Once again, any ideas? The slides seem fine. There aren't any signs of stress in the sail. Just another quandary.
Thank you and good sailing.
