I bent one of my stanchions pretty good and am looking for a replacement. I checked DR Marine, but the ones they sell are 2 pieces, the post fits into a base with socket. Mine has the post welded directly to the base plate. Does anyone know of a source for one that looks like the ones I have?

It looks like you may be able to reuse the stanchion by cutting off the base at deck level and grinding off the the upper mount. Just buy the replacement base from D&R.

Bummer, I had that happen to me. In my case the deck gave away before the stanchion bent. You have replacements custom built here's link to one such place, I'm sure there are others: http://www.bosunsupplies.com/stanchion.cfm, they have parts to match the O'Day's stanchion.

Bria's solution is probably the best, there's welders who could make short work of welding on a new base.

You have some deck repair as well. Even though the deck core appears dry in the picture, I'd suggest cutting the area out and replacing with fiberglass.

through bolted

I believe the stanchions are through bolted so it looks like the washers and nuts were yanked through from below since the bolts didn't break. You will need to get inside also and fix that area, and it is probably going to be a nightmare to get at it. Looks like it will be in the quarter berth area.
The 35 used the two piece assembly you see at D&R, why not just use that?

I'm late visiting the forum, but I just bent mine on a 37CC. My welder was able to restore it. The bolts required two people.
